The Keck Biophysics Facility is located on the fourth floor of Cook Hall on Northwestern University’s Evanston campus.
Instruments are located in rooms 4106 and 4118. The management office is in room 4134.
The facility is just south of the Seeley G. Mudd Library and can be reached by several transportation routes summarized below.
Intercampus Shuttle Bus
If you are coming from the Chicago campus, the easiest way is to take the intercampus shuttle bus. The shuttle bus stops right in front of the Technological Institute. Cook Hall is located behind (east) of Tech.
From Chicago via the L
- Board the Red line L towards Howard
- At Howard transfer to the Purple line heading towards Linden (the Purple line leaves from the same platform)
- Exit the purple line at Noyes
- At the bottom of the platform stairs turn left to proceed east on Noyes Street
- Continue to Sheridan Road
- Cross Sheridan and turn left
- Turn right at the first drive
- Continue walking straight and take the second right turn
- Cook Hall is located at the back of the cul-de-sac
Driving Directions
From Chicago and the South:
- Take Lake Shore Drive north
- At the end of Lake Shore Drive turn right onto Sheridan Road
- At Loyola University you will have to turn right to continue on Sheridan Road
- Continue north on Sheridan Road until it turns west at Calvary Cemetery, the border of Evanston
- Continue west onto South Boulevard
- Turn right onto Chicago Avenue and proceed north
- Continue north onto Sheridan Road, you will pass the Northwestern Arch and Technological Institute
- Turn right onto Lincoln Street
- At the end of Lincoln turn right onto Campus Drive
- Follow Campus drive to the North Parking Garage and Park
- Walk to Cook Hall
From the West:
- Take I-88 or I-90 eastbound to I-294 north (heading to Wisconsin)
- Exit onto US-14E/Dempster Street
- Continue heading east on Dempster for 4 miles
- Turn left on Chicago Ave
- Continue north onto Sheridan Road, you will pass the Northwestern Arch and Technological Institute
- Turn right onto Lincoln Street
- At the end of Lincoln turn right onto Campus Drive
- Follow Campus drive to the North Parking Garage and Park
- Walk to Cook Hall
From the North:
- Take I-94 eastbound
- Take exit 37B for Dempster Street eastbound
- Continue heading east on Dempster for 9.5 miles
- Turn left on Chicago Ave
- Continue north onto Sheridan Road, you will pass the Northwestern Arch and Technological Institute
- Turn right onto Lincoln Street
- At the end of Lincoln turn right onto Campus Drive
- Follow Campus drive to the North Parking Garage and Park
- Walk to Cook Hall
